Tipping is a standard form of graditue, the world around. In the middle east, having a Bellydancer at any big event is a must- especially wedding. Often, as a show of appreciation for the dancer's skill she is rained down upon with a "money shower" or tips thrown behind her creating a beautiful path. We work hard to bring exotic glam to your party and appreciate any gratuity you have to offer.
Although most bellydancers don't require tips, we certainly appreciate them!

Here are some acceptable ways to tip:

Presenting a tip in envelope with payment
Tip Basket
Politely tucking tip into side of belt or arm bands
"Money Shower" (throwing bills over dancer while she is stationary)

Tipping is a great way to get involved and experience audience interaction with the bellydancer, but remember your manners! It is impolite to grab any part of the dancer or make her chase down that dollar bill, and it is likely the dancer will just ignore you and you'll miss out on all the fun! I've even know dancers who outright embarrass people for behaving so poorly!

So have fun and get your guests involved with the party by encouraging politely tipping your Bellydance entertainment!

After many attempts at blogging on subject that held brief but enraptured fascination for me, I thought I'd try my hand at blogging one more time. I hope that bellydance, my passion for so many years will nurse my writing inclinations and also help me grow towards becoming a more self observant dancer. Here, I want to share thoughts on subjects that affect the bellydance community both local and global, and I would also like to give you a peek into my bellydance world. I'm a professional bellydancer in Fort Myers, FL, and a member of Gypsy Sugar, Ansuya's Professional Bellydance Company. I work a regular day job, and I'm a full time student. Suffice to say, my life can get pretty hectic at times, but I wouldn't trade my experiences for the world. Hope you enjoy my musings!
